van Gogh #4: Decay (Forgængelighed) is an ouvre for cd-rom and an artistic study in decomposition processes and the relationship between decay and transformation.

The theme unfolds through 12 passages with a focus on the here and now and its volatility, the contemporaryness of time, the disorder of the memory, the fulfilment of expectations and the fade of the sound.

The cd-rom can only be experienced once. Due to the navigation of the audience the content is eliminated while experiencing it.

van Gogh #4 has been exhibited at
Electrohype (exhibition for computerbased art) in Malmö, 2000, has recieved honourable mention by the press and has been presented at several conferences for digital art and design around the world. An essay about the project is published in "Digitale forbindelser", 2006 - by the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.

The project was created in collaboration with the rest of the art-group van Gogh (in 2000: Lene Wissing, Jacob Thøgersen, Jannick Kirk Sørensen, Steen Johannessen, Simon Løvind, Michael Madsen and Christian Leifelt) and have recieved financial support from The Development Foundation of The Danish Ministry of Culture, and Music Centre of the Danish Arts Agency.
