Spor 2010: Exploded Music explores what happens when music is disassembled and we zoom in on the individual parts.
The design concept for this years festival examines how music can look like when it is represented only by physical gestures of musicians playing. The idea was to capture and reveal the individual character of each instrument played over time and use the output to create a dynamic graphic composition. Together with shiftcontrol we researched on and tested different realtime capturing techniques (wearable sensors, infrered filters, etc.) before ending up using video tracking for the final solution. The festival is curated by the composer Janna Bailie (UK/BE) and presents composers and artists such as: Peter Ablinger (AT), Jana Winderen (NO), Helmut Lachenmann (D), Plus-Minus Ensemble (UK), BJNilsen (SE), Trond Reinholdtsen (NO), a.o. The festival is running 7th to 9th of may. More info will be added. |
