Black Screen (Sort Skærm) is a concept for a series of short films/fillers for television. The project is an artistic and introvert examination of "things we cannot see" as well as the phenomenia "television" and "tv-watching" as a state of mind.

During the three month research proces we produced a hughe amount of technical, optical and perceptual experiments with televisions, consulted an expert from the army about night vision equipment and visual tracking, a doctor in the field of imaginary blindness, an engineer/inventor in holographic television and participated in a public seánce with a clairvoyant. (...and we watched an incredible amount of television).

The output was a synopsis for a one year tv-serial (52 episodes) and a test-production of 4 short films/episodes. The very abstract ideas and the disturbing/poetic audiovisual language of the project seemed much too strange for the broadcasting companies and the project was never further developped.

The project was made in collaboration with Michael Madsen.
